Den of Iniquity is a work of ‘faction’, i.e., a creative text that blends real-life historical facts with invented fictional storytelling. A notable work of faction in the past that addressed the problem of clerical sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church is Windswept House by Jesuit Father Malachi Martin who is the antithesis of current-day Father James Martin, S.J.

Our book was inspired by real-life events and is a composite of several criminal and civil sex abuse and homosexual misconduct cases involving Catholic bishops, priests, seminarians, as well as clerics within Catholic cults (e.g., Focolare, Opus Dei, Legionaries of Christ, and Sodalitium Christianae Vitae).

The plot deals with a Marine Corps veteran who, unjustly dismissed from a Catholic seminary after being sexually assaulted, teams up with an attractive Jewish lawyer to uncover a trail of sex trafficking and help solve the murder of an illegal immigrant that threatens a cardinal’s hopes of being elected the next pope.
